Tips for preparing college

• SAT/ACT: Take both in junior year. Early in senior year. Submitting score will more or less always help. Superscore (e.g. Purdue). The best scores for each section. Doesn’t have to be from the same test.
• Essay: a story that’s not visible in the CV. Most common essay is about athletic injuries.
• August and September. Waive of application fee.
• Pay attention to Weighted vs. unweighted GPA.
• AP vs dual credit courses? Grades in AP are important in admission.
• Scholarships. Indiana scholarship portal. October to December. Closes in March. Purdue. Early application by Nov. automatically considered for merit scholarship. You can stack up scholarship. Applying early give access to scholarship. Complete application.
• Don’t use school email.
• College fair. August Sep
• Do official visits. Excused absences.
