GWAS (genome-wide association study)

Genome-wide association study. A study design that scans the entire genome for common genetic variants (typically SNPs) associated with a trait or disease. GWAS test up to millions of variants across many individuals, identifying loci that reach genome-wide significance (p-value < 5 × 10⁻⁸).

It’s a quintessential example of Multiple hypothesis testing. See Bonferroni correction.
