This has been a legislative request recommend by Planning Commission and submitted by Council for the past two years. Last year Delegate Callsen introduced legislation, which was expanded and sponsored by a Republican delegate from a rural area. It didn’t make it past committee. Both local bodies are developing their legislative priorities for the upcoming state session right now and might be open to some advocacy pushing them to continuing this request again this year.
