PNAS

PNAS is the proceeding of NAS (US National Academy of Science)1 and has three tracks of publication: direct submission, communication through NAS members, and contribution from NAS members. When a NAS member contributes (track III), they can select their reviewers. Thus it is much easier for NAS members to publish in PNAS. There was an interesting observation on the impact of papers published in different tracks. It showed that the contributed papers tend to receive fewer citations on average, but some of them tend to be highly cited.
