Topic modelling and word embedding
The Topic model is a standard tool to study topics presented in documents. One critical weakness is that it is not good at detecting the synonyms that are used mutually exclusive to each other and are usually not aware of the meaning of words.
Word embedding can be potentially combined with, or used as, a topic model to complement the issues.
