Tips
General
- Make a travel checklist and keep improving. I have two checklists: alone & family. I keep them in the Taskpaper format because that can be directly copy-pasted into Omnifocus. I use this script to inject some parameters (e.g., date, destination, etc.) to the template.

Packing
- Pack light. You can almost always get by with fewer clothings and shoes.
- Identify shoes first then pick clothings for them. You can put socks etc. into the shoes to save space.
- Tightly Roll clothes.
- Don’t over/underdress for the trip. It may be too cold with shorts in the airplane. It may also too hot in the plane if you wear layers. Keep it simple.
- Pack several empty ziploc bags (~gallon) for sweaty/dirth clothes. Put some clothes, close 90%, push down to remove air, then fully close. This reduces the volume quite a bit.
- Keep two small (ziploc) bags, one for your mouth (travel-size toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash) and the other for other cleaning/grooming (e.g., lotion, razor (w an extra blade), nail clipper, etc.). Consider kepping a small roll of TP as well.

Electronics
- Pick a Gallium Nitride charger, such as MINIX 66W. It can deliver a lot of power given its size. Two USB-C & one USB-A seem to work quite well (e.g., phone, computer, and watch).
bring a EU power cord or adapter. The sockets take either, and unlike the US ones, the EU plugs won’t keep falling out. – https://fosstodon.org/@mattdm/109514471463619398
Internet & data
- Tmobile has plans that allow ~global data/hotspot.
Documents
- Plastic project case like this is quite useful to carry documents and other small items securely.
